Using this site, or sending us an application through it, means you've read and accepted what's written here. If any part of it doesn't sit right with you, the simplest thing is not to use the site.
To submit an application, you confirm that:
If you're submitting on behalf of a band, collective, or an existing label, you confirm that you actually have the authority to represent everyone involved, and that any agreements already in place between you and the people you represent don't conflict with what you're proposing to us.
There's no account to create — you send us your details and your music through the form or by email, and a person on our side reviews it. You're responsible for:
Sending an application doesn't create a contract, a partnership, or any obligation on either side. It starts a conversation, nothing more, until both sides sign something.
Applying and being reviewed is free, at every stage, with no exceptions. Nobody representing Learis will ever ask you for money as part of applying — if someone does, they're not acting on our behalf.
Sharing a track or a link with us for review doesn't hand over any rights to that music. We listen to it purely to decide whether to move forward. Ownership, licensing, and revenue splits are only ever settled in a separate written contract, signed by both sides, once we've actually agreed to work together.
We ask that whatever you submit is either entirely your own work or something you're cleared to share — including any samples, features, or co-writes it contains.
We put real effort into reviewing applications fairly and responding within the timeframe we quote. What we can't promise:
How royalties are split, reported, and paid is defined in your individual contract, not on this page. In general terms: we only pass on what platforms actually pay us, minus anything specified in your contract, and figures reported by a platform can occasionally be corrected later — for instance if a stream is later found to be fraudulent.
We don't work with anyone who inflates numbers artificially — bought streams, bot traffic, click farms, or coordinated playlist manipulation. If we find this has happened, we can pause a release, withhold royalties tied to it, and end the agreement. Streaming platforms run their own fraud detection too, and their penalties are outside our control.
We won't distribute or promote anything that infringes someone else's rights, breaks the law, contains hate speech or incitement to violence, or is deliberately misleading about who made it. If we find this after a release has gone out, we can take it down.
If you think a release connected to Learis uses your work without permission, email us at legal@learisrecords.com with enough detail for us to look into it — what was used, where you saw it, and how to verify you're the rights holder. We'll follow up directly.
Details you share with us during an application — unreleased music, financial numbers, personal circumstances — stay between us. We won't pass them on except where the law requires it, or with your permission.
We collect what you give us in the application (name, contact details, links, and anything you choose to write) to review it and get back to you. We don't sell it, and we don't hand it to anyone outside Learis except where needed to actually run the business — for example a distributor, once you're signed.
Before a contract is signed, either side can simply stop responding — there's no formal process needed. After a contract is signed, the terms for ending it (notice periods, what happens to earnings, timelines for taking a release down) are whatever's written in that specific contract, not in this document.
The design, layout, and writing on this website belong to Learis. Feel free to link to it; please don't copy the site wholesale for something else.
We try to keep this site accurate and online, but it's provided as-is, without a guarantee that it'll always be error-free, secure, or available. If something looks broken or wrong, let us know.
To whatever extent the law allows, Learis isn't liable for indirect losses arising from your use of this site — lost profits, lost opportunities, or similar. Nothing here limits liability that legally can't be limited, such as liability for fraud.
If a claim, cost, or legal dispute arises because something you submitted infringed someone's rights, was fraudulent, or otherwise broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that causes us — this doesn't apply to ordinary, good-faith applications, only to genuine breaches.
We may update these terms as the site and the business evolve. The version posted here is always the current one, and continuing to use the site after a change means you've accepted it.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the courts of England and Wales.
If a court decides one section of these terms isn't enforceable, the rest still stands. That one section gets narrowed just enough to make it valid, rather than the whole document falling apart.
This page, together with anything else posted on the site, sits alongside — but doesn't replace — an individual contract you sign with us. If the two ever disagree, your signed contract wins.
Questions about any of this can go to legal@learisrecords.com.
